Every fair is a journey.

But a journey never begins at the entrance: it starts much earlier, in the corridors of companies, amid phone calls and ideas taking shape. This was also the case for Osai GreenTech. Months of meetings, updates and organisation unfolded like the chapters of an unwritten book. Then the time came to leave. Once we had loaded the material and finalised the details, we boarded with the enthusiasm of people who know that every meeting offers an opportunity and that fairs are sometimes crossroads for the future.

We have now arrived at the 28th edition of Ecomondo. Rimini welcomed us with the energy of a coastal city and the beating heart of innovation. As we walked through the pavilions and along the themed routes, it was as if we were inside an open-air laboratory: companies, researchers, students and other curious individuals were all ready to imagine a different way of being in the world — one that is more circular, more aware and more just.

In the large collective space of the Piedmont Innovation Poles System, our stand has become a small arrival and departure station. Here, we discussed the RE4M PCB — an automatic system for separating and selecting electronic board components — which is the same technology that earned the Iren Group the 2025 Sustainable Development Award.

We also presented another innovation by Osai GreenTech: technology dedicated to recovering rare earths from hard disk drives. It was so impactful that it captured the attention of the Sky TG24 cameras. Here is the full interview.

There were plenty of special meetings. Among the people who visited our stand were the Minister for the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, who held a direct dialogue with our President, Mirella Ferrero, and the President of Confindustria Cisambiente, Lucia Leonessi.

But a fair is about more than just work. It’s also what remains when the pavilions are turned off and the city falls silent again. The evenings in Rimini were special: the moon stretching over the sea, the sound of the water, and the feeling that all that innovation had a precise meaning right there in front of us — the element that we must protect above all else. So it’s no coincidence that the sea entered the fair this year, with the ‘Blue Economy’ district dedicated to protecting ecosystems, fighting plastic pollution and promoting sustainable fishing.

And then came the return. We’re back to electric, aboard our Osai GreenTech-branded van, and we’re doing it with the same spirit with which we started: light, clean and consistent with our beliefs. We have returned with contacts, opportunities and confirmations. When you choose to invest in sustainability and innovation, you’re not just building machines and processes; you’re building the future.

Yet the journey is not over.

A fair like Ecomondo does not close; it transforms and continues through the ideas, gestures and projects that will follow. We are moving towards a world in which consumerism dissolves and makes way for renewalism — a new way of valuing things without wasting them. This future is not some distant tomorrow; it is already here today.
