The curtain has come down on Ecomondo, which closed its 26th edition with record numbers. Staged in the Rimini Exhibition Centre, the largest trade fair in Europe and in the Mediterranean region for technologies, services and industrial solutions in the green & circular economy sectors recorded an increase in attendance compared to the previous edition of +15%, as well as more than 1,500 exhibitors (+10%) and 150 thousand square metres dedicated.
For the second year in a row, Osai Green Tech SB S.r.l. in collaboration with BTT Italia S.r.l., exhibited solutions and projects within the RAEE District, Hall B3 Stand 315, including a news within its spaces: a dedicated area to host various speeches in which Osai GreenTech systems and technologies were discussed in depth. Giorgio Canori, Technical Sales Osai GreenTech, explained the upgrades of the RE4M – Recycling for Manufacturing plant, the first to be built in Italy, for the disassembly of electronic boards and the extraction, selection and recovery of the precious metals inside them, including gold, silver, palladium and copper.
The plant was also the protagonist of another speech, held during the second day of the fair, by Luca Bassi, Project Management Director Osai, and Matteo Malara, Sales Specialist Siemens with the focus on monitoring consumption to improve energy saving results. For RE4M, Siemens provided an application capable of responding not only to the challenges of energy efficiency, but also to the issues of WEEE traceability and the concept of sustainability; a platform open to IT integration in the shop-floor that makes the software and data management scalable, reliable and easy to use, even remotely.
Also the hard disks were subject of discussion and debate. Alice Tori, Head of the Innovation and Development Department, introduced the NEW-RE project, in which Osai parent company A.S. S.p.A. SB is participating by taking part in the consortium led by Erion and co-funded by EIT Raw Materials, for the realization of a semi-automated disassembly system for the permanent magnets and PCBs contained in end-of-life hard disks.
The fair was also the perfect occasion for the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Hiro Robotics. During the first day of Ecomondo, Fabio Benetti, CEO of Osai, and Davide Labolani, CEO of Hiro Robotics, signed the agreement to start a strategic collaboration in the world of recycling for the circular economy, for a synergy of projects and intentions because “there is no time to be competitors“.
The market is calling for ecological transition and Ecomondo showed that it is ready to go, and with it all the participating companies, including Osai GreenTech. The XXVI edition comes to a positive conclusion, now our Company’s journey continues, waiting to meet again in Rimini, from 5 to 8 November 2024.
