From the 7th to 10th November 2023, companies, stakeholders, policy makers and opinion leaders will meet in Rimini, and for the second year running Osai GreenTech SB S.r.l. will be one of the more than 1,500 exhibitors.

Re4M: Automated electronic board processing plant

The innovative system for the automated extraction and sorting of electronic components for the recovery of critical precious metals allows the best existing technologies and experience to be applied to the world of electronic waste recycling (WEEE), transforming waste into new raw material to be incorporated into new production processes with a view to the circular economy. The technology developed by Osai allows, in combination with the technologies of its partner BTT Italia S.r.l., high levels of efficiency with low environmental impacts and the efficient refining of metals such as gold, silver, palladium and copper.
Automation for dismantling technology: use case NewRE Project

A project in which the parent company Osai A.S. S.p.A. SB is taking part in the consortium led by Erion, co-financed by the EIT Raw Materials, a platform for innovation funded by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, for a total of EUR 3.6 million, aims to build a demonstration plant that will be installed in Ceccano (FR) with a treatment potential of about 20 tonnes per year of permanent magnets contained in hard disks and end-of-life electric motors. The NEW-RE process will make it possible to recycle around 99% of secondary rare earths from the treated waste, increasing the recycling rate of these elements at European level, which is currently only 1%. The highly efficient process produces no solid residues and generates low quantities of liquid effluents. At the same time, a semi-automated disassembly system for hard disk magnets will be developed and tested, which will save considerable time compared to the manual process normally used, and its applicability to electric motors will also be assessed.
The 26th edition of Ecomondo is set to be the most important ever in terms of exhibition space used and the wealth of projects focused on innovation, internationality and inclusion.
