Osai Green Tech SB S.r.l. will contribute to industrial prototype
Osai Automation System S.p.A., parent company of the Benefit Society, has joined the consortium set up for the NEW- RE project to tackle the challenge of recycling permanent Neodymium magnets and spent lamps contained in electronic waste.
In NEW-RE, the partners will work together to build a demonstrator plant that will be installed in Ceccano (FR) with a treatment potential of about 20 tonnes per year of permanent magnets contained in end-of-life hard disks and electric motors. The 26-month project is funded by the EIT Raw Materials (European Institute of Innovation and Technology) for a total of EUR 3.6 million.
Osai A.S. S.p.A. will participate by working on the creation of a prototype for the disassembly of hard disks with a fully automated or semi-automated approach, in which Osai Green Tech SB S.r.l. itself can contribute to a new “recycling era”.
